Born and raised in Chicago, Rania Salem is a Palestinian organizer, poet, and friend to all committed to the people’s struggle across all oppressed people in order to better our world. Rania’s family is originally from a village called Jrash that was ethnically cleansed in 1948 then her family was internally displaced to Dheisheh Refugee camp in Bethlehem, Palestine. She also is a daughter of immigrants who’s parents decided to come to the states to raise their children and live a life outside of occupation. Rania continues her community work alongside other grassroots organizations in Chicago and will be continuing her work as a programs coordinator with ICIRR! Rania graduated from Loyola University with a bachelors degree in Political Science and Pre-medicine. Rania is very passionate about organizing and is committed to the movement, to community, and to her family and friends. She loves poetry and binge watching shows on Netflix.
